Deo-Alpha
Purpose:
“Deo-alpha2 is used for:
- liquid deactivation of surfaces, equipment, laboratory utensils, personal protection items contaminated by a- and b- radio nuclides;
- regular treatment of surfaces (floors, walls, furniture);
- cleaning and deactivation of glass, plastic, tiled, metal, rubber, wood, concrete, and varnished surfaces.
Fields of application:
- atomic industry (atomic power stations, industrial isotope separation, storing and disposal of radioactive substances);
- dealing with aftermath of damages/accidents involving radiation;
- maintenance and exploitation of atomic submarines, icebreakers;
- scientific research laboratories;
- military industries;
- Space industry.
Main advantages:
- perfect for regular treatment of surfaces, because working solutions do not need to be washed off with water;
- economical (deactivation process requires 0,3% - 0,4% solutions);
- solutions have a high deactivation coefficient: -46 for steel, -1218 for non-corrosive steel, -388 for painted steel, and do not cause any local corrosions of metals;
- does not require any special use of electricity, air, etc., which is especially important when dealing with liquidation of various radiation accidents;
- non-flammable and non-explosive, which is very convenient for transportation and storing the product;
- non-toxic: belongs to Class 4 of safe substances.
Composition:
A liquid based on a composition of surface-active substances and functional additives. Non-flammable, non-explosive.
Directions for use:
In order to prepare a working solution of this product, dissolve 3 or 4 ml of “Deo-alpha” in 1 litre of water. Deactivation is done by applying a liquid solution on the affected surface and then spreading it with brushes. It is also possible to submerge some equipment into a bath containing “Deo-alpha” solution, and rinse it with water afterwards.
Storing conditions:
“Deo-alpha” should be stored packed in dry conditions, at temperatures between -5 and +35 C.
